Gaëlle studied for an MA in Animation at the Royal College of Art,
which culminated in her BAFTA winning short FISH NEVER SLEEP.
She joined Passion Pictures in 2004 and directed the short film
CITY PARADISE that received more than 50 international awards
including the Jury Award in Annecy and the Innovation Award in Aspen
as well as another BAFTA nomination.
In 2006, Gaëlle directed live action short AFTER THE RAIN,
commissioned by Cinema Extreme and Film Four.
Gaëlle is currently working on various film projects,
including an adaptation of the book THE DIARY OF PETR GINZ,
a hybrid live action and animation feature project.
She is also developing a feature film with Mark Herbert
and WARP FILMS, collaborating with writer Kirsty Peart.
The project was finalist of the scheme ReAnimate.
She has just collaborated with Tim hope and
music composer Richard Thomas on a series of
sequences for the Sadler’s Wells show “Shoes”
and recently shot a film for StreetWiseOpera and
a parody of “Romeo and Juliet” for AIDES campaign.
This year, Gaëlle is part of the scheme Guiding Lights.
Her mentor is Mike Newell and she is shadowing his work on
“Box of delights” and “Great expectations”.
